Arnold Shading Tricks 2024 – BFX Masterclass

Thanks to everyone who attended my masterclass at BFX!

 

I’ve updated the Houdini 20.5 scene files with a batch denoising example and general polish here:

And I’ve backported most of the scenes to be compatible with the lab Houdini (19.5, and an old HtoA):

masterclass_2024_houdini19.5.zip

Some caveats:

  • A handful of scenes aren’t supported in this old version (namely the OpenPBR examples and the distance shader example)
  • Since Houdini 20, OCIO is the default colour manager. This means in Houdini 19.5 (which does not natively use OCIO), your scenes will look different in the viewport.
